It was fun getting ready and only took about 20 mins to get dressed and do hair for the two girls. At this stage our back yard was completely covered in magnificent yellow dandelions, a setting worthy of a princess.
The following photos were taken in what most photographers refer to as the 'golden hour', as the afternoon light provides a wonderful golden glow. I was shooting with a canon 6D and a 50mm f/1.4 lens. Often I will also use a polariser if I can get enough shutter speed out of it for fast moving children.
It was a wonderful game to all run around in a big circle then fall down and look at Mummy.

The key with children is to do it fast and keep it fun. Please let me emphasise that even though my girls have a photographer for a mother they really dislike having their picture taken and often look away from the camera so these images are the result of me keeping it extra fun and snapping that moment when I can.

No joke....despite my best efforts, 5 mins into our games my girls started to become bored and wander off to do their own thing....I knew my time was limited. I knew I had a couple of the eldest but had to put in one effort to capture my youngest.
Success at last....and a little sisterly love as a bonus. With a little planning I now have these beautiful images of my girls that will go on the wall for sure. My speciality is getting the beautiful image that shows your child's personality, they do not need to be a natural in front of the camera to capture a memory to keep forever.
